Weekly Recap (for a few weeks & replacing IMM)

May 19, 2012

If you haven't heard about the events that took place a few weeks ago that involved Kristi from The Story Siren and plagiarism...well you've been living under a rock (or have been gone for a while.) I'm not going to say anything on the matter because I have nothing to say that hasn't been said. Anyways, I wasn't sure what to do about the whole IMM deal...

A while back (February 2010, to be more exact) I stopped participating In My Mailbox. At the same time, I stopped participating in It's Monday, What Are You Reading? Instead, I replaced both meme's with a Weekly Recap inspired by All About {n}. Since I couldn't decide what to do about this new situation a few weeks ago, I finally decided to stick to my Weekly Recap but move it to Sunday and add the "books I got this week" feature once again. This makes it better for me :) If you follow my new YouTube channel though, you can also catch my monthly book haul videos, which will be uploaded at the end of every month with all the books I've received.

 + Soulless by Gail Carriger
+ My Name is Memory by Ann Brashares

Both these books are a little older. I've already read My Name is Memory but I picked it up because I didn't own a copy and it's one of my favorites. It was also only a few books at B&N! Soulless was a book I attempted to read a few years ago when it was first released, but I had a hard time getting into it. I got it through PBS, so I will give it another chance soon :)

I already started both Fallen by Lauren Kate and Jenny Pox by JL Bryan. I am really enjoying Jenny so far, but haven't gotten into Fallen too much just yet. I still need to buy a copy of Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood for my book club meeting this Saturday! Hopefully I will do that by tomorrow :)
