May in one word:
A few of my girlfriends and I decided to start a weight-loss bet. $25 each and whoever lost the most BMI at the end won the pool of money. I was the smallest of the group but once I checked my weight and BMI, I realized I was overweight, just by a tiny bit but still! I'd never been in this position in my life. I was terrified and upset and disappointed. So with the support of my friends and my boyfriend, I actively started changing my eating habits and exercise habits. All in all, I lost 8lbs in one month and am only 15 away from my ultimate goal weight (which I've been trying to reach for the past 4 ish years.)
It's been hard. There have been days when I wanted to pig out and just give up. I've given up drinking beer. I stopped drinking anything except water as a matter of fact ("Don't drink your calories." - the boyfriend) and given up a lot of other ridiculously unhealthy food.
At first I was questioning this whole thing. My boyfriend (who I've only been with a little over a month) lives a healthy lifestyle, goes to the gym at least 5 days out of the week, and really cares about his health and weight. He weighs his food and controls his portions, he meal preps and works out religiously. It's part of his life. So when he suggested I get a food scale to help me out, I became a little alarmed. Did I want to live that kind of life? And I turned to him and said..."But are you happy?" He laughed cause of my silly question but when he noticed how I felt, he admitted that it took getting used to but he was, in fact, happy. Happy with his results and the way he lived his life. So last week, I bought a food scale. I am on my way to a healthier me. And he was right, it has taken a lot of getting used to. But I am happy.

For the month of May I finished four books! That's quite a feat for me! This month, I've decided to keep my goals at a minimum since I might not have as much time to read:

Deadpool: X Marks the Spot by Daniel Way (currently reading)
Overall it was a great month. Happy reading everyone :)
